Carey Plays The Mr & Mrs Game....
Mariah Carey and rapper/actor Nick Cannon stepped out together for the first time as husband and wife when they hit the Time 100 party in New York City on Thursday night (08May08).
The couple, who exchanged nuptials in a surprise wedding last week (30Apr08) at the singer's mansion in the Bahamas, showed off their wedding rings as they mingled with other celebrity guests at the event hosted by Time magazine.
It is the second marriage for Carey, who split from Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola in 1997 after four years together. Cannon called off his engagement to model Selita Ebanks last year (07) after another whirlwind romance.
In other news Mariah Carey managed to keep her wedding plans a secret from even her closest friends by convincing them all her trip to the Bahamas with then-boyfriend Nick Cannon was all part of her video plans.
Cannon plays the singer's love interest in her new promo for Bye Bye and Carey convinced everyone the couple were just shooting extra scenes when they jetted off to her Windermere home with select pals.
But the couple had already decided to wed there.
Carey tells People magazine, "We only told people who had to know... If we brought a million people with us, it would've been obvious we weren't shooting a video.
