By now Janice had reached the first flag and was left balancing while Rodney made his way out below her.

But as he made his way towards Janice he lost his balance again and had to be brought back to the start to try again. Rodney shouted: "I’m sorry Janice, darling. Hang on there I just can’t do this I’m really struggling. I’m going to keep going though I’m going to keep trying."

Janice reassured him: "Come on it’s a picnic."

Ant asked whether he was finding it tough.

Rodney admitted: "You’ve no idea. It’s physically hard."

Ant asked: "Are you happy there Janice, are you okay?"

Janice said: "I’m having a picnic."

Dec asked: "You’re still alright, yeah?"

Janice joked: "You know what Ant and Dec, this is not the time for romance."

Rodney told her: "You’re being fantastic. You wouldn’t believe I was a footballer would you?"

But he was left hanging once more leaving Janice to comment: "I feel like a flamingo," as she balanced on the high wire.

Eventually Rodney managed to position himself on the wire below Janice and catch a star flag which he then deposited in the star bag.

Dec told him: "Well done Rodney that’s a meal for camp."

He added: "You look like Spiderman on that wire."

But by the half time mark Rodney slipped again and by the end of the trial he had slipped off the wire seven times and each time he had to be brought back to the beginning to start again while Janice was left waiting.

As Rodney made his way out yet another time Janice directed him so that he could line up on the wire directly below her. He managed to catch the second star flag and they went for a third but he missed the flag and it fell into the valley below and then their time ran out.

They were brought back to the start position to be met by Ant and Dec and as Rodney lay on the floor breathing heavily Janice cried out: "Oxygen, oxygen, get him some oxygen."

Rodney replied: "No, I’m all right."

Rodney told her: "Janice you’re a star darling. I’m absolutely knackered."

Janice told him "You’re the star."

She then wafted her hands across his face and he told her: "You’re not putting out a fire."

Janice then relived her ordeal as she explained: "The thing with me was, Ant, Dec, Rodney and the UK, I’m up there and these wasps they were out there flying around buzzing round my ears then a fly landed on my nose and I was like ‘aw aw’."

Rodney then told them: "I don’t think I’ve ever done anything as physically demanding."

Rodney blamed it on: "Lack of food, lack of sleep."

Janice added: "Lack of sex."

Before making their way back to camp to break the news that they had only won two meals Rodney said: "I’ve got one thing to say to all the people who voted me to do this - bollocks."

Janice added: "All the people who voted for him, thanks for voting for him."

Rodney told them he wanted the others to share the food but that he wouldn’t be eating that night.
