Gwyneth Paltrow is the reason behind a recent surge in the sales of super high heels according to retailers.
The actress hit headlines when she arrived on the Iron Man red carpet last week in sky scraping heels and since then Selfrideges have recorded a 35% rise in the sales of their highest heels.
Selfridges has revealed the 'Gwyneth Effect' has caused a rush of customer interest in shoes with a staggering seven inch heel, including brands such as Balenciaga, Christian Louboutin and Yves Saint Laurent.
Sebastian Manes, Selfridges' Director of Accessories told Marie Claire: "This season we are selling the highest and most incredible shoes I've ever seen. Not for the faint hearted, fetish heels offer the wearer an extreme, attention grabbing look, these are definitely taxi shoes!"
