Christina Milian is suing the producer behind her 2003 hit Dip It Low, claiming he lied about a sample he used for the track.
Milian alleges Poli Paul, who wrote the smash, assured her "there were no samples whatsoever" in Dip It Low, but the singer has since spent a fortune in legal costs, defending herself in a plagiarism lawsuit.
Thomas Turino, Larry Crook and Dan Dickey sued Milian, claiming a portion of her song was illegally lifted from their 1983 track La Sirena.
In legal documents filed in Los Angeles on Thursday - Milian claims Poli Paul looped a 12-second sample of La Sirena into Dip It Low after hearing the track in a record store.
Her lawyer, Ed McPherson, wants Paul and his associate, Spencer Cowlings Entertainment, to pay the $300,000 (£150,000) Milian has already spent defending herself in the case, and punitive damages.
