The Holloways announce tour support

1 month ago 13th Oct 11:02

New Education have been announced as main support to London indie-popstrels The Holloways on the Northern leg of their UK tour in November. The ten dates include a hometown gig at The Underground in Stoke-on-Trent on 14 November.

5 November YORK Fibbers

7 November HUDDERSFIELD Student Union

8 November NORTHAMPTON Roadmenders

9 November LEICESTER Charlotte

14 November STOKE-ON-TRENT Underground

15 November WAKEFIELD Escobar

17 November HULL Piper

18 November DERBY Royal

19 November CARDIFF The Point

25 November LEAMINGTON SPA Assembly

The dates follow the release of New Education's debut single 'Today' on 27 October through KIDS. Released on 7" vinyl only and limited to 500 copies, 'Today' is the latest release for the label that launched The Wombats, The Whip, Band of Horses and iLiKETRAiNS.

Brothers Ryan Dooley (vocals, guitar) and Jack Dooley (bass, backing vocals) formed New Education in January 2008 in Stoke-on-Trent, along with long-time friends David Cartwright (guitar) and John Bradbury (drums). Influenced by bands like Oasis, The Cure and The Clash, Ryan writes gritty, assured rock songs which the band describe as the sound of "the midlands calling".

New Education have earned a devoted and ever-growing following in Stoke in a short space of time, with rowdy gigs at The Sugarmill and the Underground cementing their local fanbase. Having recently toured with Beggars, their tour with The Holloways is the next step on the band's mission to make themselves heard.
