Forty three per cent (43%) of Brits spend more time on the phone to their partners than anyone else, with friends and Mums coming next polling twenty six per cent (26%) and fifteen per cent (15%) respectively, illustrating that communication within other relationships seems to suffer when we find a partner.
In terms of regional differences, those in the North are in touch with their partners the most, with twenty five per cent (25%) saying they speak throughout the day, every day compared to the less clingy Londoners, of whom only seventeen per cent (17%) do the same. Those in the South West, Wales and the Midlands send the least texts to their partners (forty eight per cent (48%) in all areas said they only send one text a day) compared to the nineteen per cent (19%) in the capital who admit sending five or more texts a day to their loved one.
Naomi Jeanes from dot mobile comments:
As the majority of the UK population now owns a mobile phone, convential rules of dating etiquette have been re-written. Women are more in control than ever, and men are getting in touch with their conversational side.
She continues: dot mobile offers students flexible bundles of units which you can use how you wish on calls, texts and picture messages. Of course, all of these are handy for organising your love-life and keeping up with dating etiquette!
