Prince Harry's Afghanistan ban

2 months ago 29th Sep 14:00

Britain's Prince Harry has reportedly been banned from returning to Afghanistan.

The royal - who is a lieutenant in the armoured Blues and Royal regiment - travelled to the country's Helmand province earlier this year and was said to be keen to return, but aides claim he would be putting himself and his regiment under an "unacceptable risk" if he went back.

A source told Britain's The People newspaper: "Harry is absolutely desperate to get back to Afghanistan because he is a soldier through and through and he believes there is a vital job to do there.

"But he is being let down gently because the risks would be even greater this time."

Harry is absolutely desperate to get back to Afghanistan because he is a soldier through and through and he believes there is a vital job to do there.

The prince was forced to return home after his initial spell in the country after a media blackout on his whereabouts was broken by a foreign website.

Harry is said to be devastated he will not be returning to the area, particularly as he is worried his military career will not be taken seriously if he is not allowed to fight.

The source added: "Everybody in his family and regiment believe he has thoroughly proved himself in every conceivable way as a soldier and he has every reason to be proud.
