Britain's Prince William showed support for troops and charities at a fundraising event last night (01.05.08).
The prince, wearing an evening suit, attended the fundraising dinner for charities Wellbeing of Women and sight-saving organisation Orbis.
The gala dinner was held at London's Guildhall and during the event, William - is a patron of an appeal to raise money for the two charities - chatted to British game show host Carol Vorderman.
The prince was also showing his support for wounded British soldiers, wearing an orange armband in aid of Help the Heroes.
He was pleased to try to offer some degree of comfort to Trooper Pearson's family.
The armbands cost £2 and are part of an appeal set up to raise £5 million to build a swimming pool and gym complex at Headley Court, a combined forces rehabilitation centre in Surrey.
Earlier this week, William, 25, took part in a secret RAF mission in Afghanistan to meet British troops.
The future king flew a military transport aircraft for part of the journey from the UK to Kandahar.
