New footage of Britain's Queen Elizabeth before she was crowned has been uncovered.
The previously unseen video was nearly thrown away before being discovered by BBC Leeds producer Tony Parker, who came into possession of the tape after an appeal for archive material of the Second World War.
The film - which has now been donated to Screen Archive South East in Brighton - shows the queen cradling a baby boy at a christening in the 1950s.
Parker made a plea on a local radio station asking for historical footage.
The producer spent two days looking through the material but found nothing of interest so was ready to give up.He said:
He said: "A chap got in touch with us. He happened to sell lots of second-hand kit for charity and did the odd house clearance - and there the material was in the back of his car."
