Nicky Hayden’s Guided Tour Of Donnington Park

Nicky Hayden’s

Strapped in and with my knuckles white before we even left the start line, I jumped on board with Nicky Hayden, king of the British Grand Prix, for a whistle stop tour of the Donnington Park Circuit. (Just in case I want to tipple Valentino Rossi from the podium)

Off we go…. you might want to follow our adventures on a track of Donnington Park.

This first corner is quite hard because you go from fifth gear back to second and you try to make those gear shifts as quick as possible…

Going up into here is one of the most difficult corners on the track, it’s also the easiest to crash on, especially in the rain… you’ll come over this hill and you’ll see that it just goes away! You can see al the marks across the side… but why it’s so important to get it right is because it leads onto the best passing zone so it’s really important to either make a pass or not get passed!

As we continue you can get into fith gear down here, but then you need to change to first gear again, so it’s quite important to have a good go on the brakes as you go into this completely different part of the track.

This section has a lot of hairpins and tight corners and the bikes changes direction…

Here you can drive off and drive from first gear to forth and then back down to fourth… then that’s it, that’s a lap, it seems like there’s more to it when you’re in the saddle!
