'Scared' Alison King

Alison King is "scared to death" of becoming a mother.

The 'Coronation Street' actress - who plays feisty Carla Gordon in the ITV soap - is due to give birth to her first child with partner Adam Huckett next month, but admits she is petrified about having the baby because she is so unorganized.

She said: "I'm scared to death. I haven't even had time to get anything organised.

"I'll miss 'Coronation Street' - especially the buzz of the place and the adult conversation. But I'm just hoping I can keep dropping in with the baby all the time."

The 35-year-old actress recently revealed her pregnancy has made her "scatty" and admits friends have to accompany her everywhere because she is so forgetful.

She said: "It's my baby brain! I've turned scatty! I went for an antenatal check-up and the midwife told me I had protein in my wee, so I said it was because I had an egg for breakfast. I thought she was going to section me!"

Alison's sound engineer partner Adam recently warned her that he wants at least five children, but the actress is focussing on her current pregnancy.

She said: "He's like 'Come on, King. Knock em out!' I'd like more but I just want to concentrate on this one first."
