Mathew Horne wants to quit television to become a rock star.
The 'Gavin and Stacey' actor - who played Gavin Shipman in the BBC comedy series - is currently out of work and is considering making the move from the television screen to follow his life's ambition to be in a band.
He said: "I need a job, if anyone is offering! Every day I'm alive I want to be in a band."
While he waits for job offers to turn up, Mathew has been working as a DJ at venues around Britain.
But I've just got to deal with it
However, the 31-year-old star has joked his attempts at becoming a live performing artist have been largely unsuccessful since he left school.
He quipped to the Daily Star newspaper: "So far I've only done dodgy Nirvana covers at school."
Although he'd love to be in a successful band, Mathew has previously admitted he finds fame difficult because he is upset at being recognised by strangers.
He said: "I find it really difficult. I get recognised all the time wherever I go. Even if people don't come up, there's a lot of looking, nudging and whispering and I find it uncomfortable. It's not good for the paranoia levels. But I've just got to deal with it."
