The former glamour model hit back at the ex-footballer after he accused her of dominating the show's on-air discussions and says she had to leave because she could no longer work with him.

She said: "Our working relationship became intolerable."

Melinda quit the channel Five show - which is also presented by former 'Apprentice' star Kate Walsh - last month and while she didn't want to slate her ex co-hosts, she felt Ian left her with no choice.

Our working relationship became intolerable.

Her spokeswoman added: "Melinda was disappointed by the comments made by Ian.

"His allegations that she would not let him or Kate get a word in edgeways are ridiculous. Melinda loved working on the show but felt she had no other option but to bow out.

"This is not something we wished to talk about in the public arena but after comments made by Ian Wright about Melinda's professional performance, we felt we had no choice but to respond."

Ian branded Melinda "annoying" and said 'Live From Studio Five' is better without her.

He said: "Melinda would drown us out so many times and it was annoying. People don't want to turn on to see people arguing."
