In tonight’s second episode, the interns face the consequences of Izzie’s actions, and Bailey takes charge when Webber decides that his sick niece should be able to have a prom – at the hospital. Fortunately for Izzie and the rest of the interns, Denny has pulled through his surgery and is recovering well.

Webber is relieved that Denny has made it, but is furious that one of his interns endangered the life of a patient. Determined to find out which one it was, Webber interrogates the group both separately and together, but is confronted with silence, tears and anger instead of a confession.

He decides to ban them all from any surgeries until they break, and instead sets them the task of organising a prom for his niece – a far cry from the surgery they are used to... Meanwhile, Burke is also out of surgery and on the road to recovery – or so Derek believes.

When Cristina spots Burke unsuccessfully trying to flex his fingers, she realises that he is actually having some problems. Could this spell the end of a brilliant surgeon’s career – and if so, how will Cristina cope? Also in tonight’s season finale, Izzie is stunned when Denny repeats his proposal – but tragedy is just around the corner. And Meredith and Derek finally give in to their true feelings... but what will the consequences be?
