The decision follows last year's 'Celebrity Big Brother' race row, when Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and former 'S Club 7' star Jo O'Meara were accused of racist bullying against Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, prompting 45,000 complaints to TV watchdog Ofcom.
A source told Britain's The Daily Star newspaper: "It's time to go back to basics. The concept of 'Celebrity Big Brother' is great, but it will be virtually impossible to get celebrities to sign up for the show after everything that happened with Jade and Shilpa.
"The summer's flagship featuring everyday people is what started the brand in the first place, yet it has been neglected. Now it is time to turn it back into the exciting, vibrant show it once was."
