David Tennant's 'Doctor Who' has been voted the sexiest male TV character.
The time lord beat Wentworth Miller's 'Prison Break' character Michael Scofield and Josh Holloway's 'Lost' bad boy Sawyer to take the title.
The poll also saw Anna Friel's 'Pushing Daisies' heroine, Chuck, voted the sexiest female TV character.
'Desperate Housewives' star Gabrielle Solis, played by Eva Longoria, came in second place, while Evangeline Lilly's 'Lost' character Kate Austin closely followed her into third position.
A sexy male or female lead can make a real difference to the success of a series.
A spokesperson for The Hallmark Channel, who carried out the survey to find out how effective sex appeal was in attracting viewers, said: "A sexy male or female lead can make a real difference to the success of a series."
"If you were creating the ideal on-screen couple it would be David and Anna."
The survey found charisma was the most attractive quality for male characters, followed by good looks and not playing by the rules.
