James Sutton's Jake love

2 months ago 04th Sep 13:00

James Sutton says he "loves" his 'Hollyoaks' co-star Jake Hendriks "to bits".

The 25-year-old actor's character in the soap, John Paul McQueen, is in a relationship with Jake's character Kieron Hobbs - a former priest who is murdered in an upcoming episode - and admits their on-screen partnership helped them forge a strong friendship.

James said: "I really miss working with Jake Hendriks. I love him to bits. We're very close, so I'll still see him.

"A few of us chipped in for his leaving present and bought him an Arsenal football shirt with 'Hobbs', Kieron's surname, on the back!"

James, who leaves the soap in explosive scenes soon to be aired, says he enjoyed playing John Paul, but would love to play a more sinister character in his next role.

He said: "Bad boys always have the most exciting storylines. If you look at Rob Kazinsky who plays Sean Slater in 'EastEnders', there's so much scope for his character. He can be as pantomime or as subtle as he wants. I'd love to play a part like that in my next job."

In scenes which are sure to shock 'Hollyoaks' fans, Kieron is murdered by John Paul's secret half-brother Niall - played by Barry Sloane - when the former priest reveals he has uncovered Niall's true identity.
