Love Island - An expensive show!

According to reports, Love Island cost ITV £12 million pounds, twice as much as it's competitor Big Brother.

The Digital Spy website states that large numbers of production crew members and cortege, claimed to be in the hundreds, flights to the South Pacific, hotels and other expenses all added to the costs.

Although the costs of production were higher, the show was beaten over its course by BB with its average adult audience figures.

Big Brother managed to gain 4.2 million compared to Love Island's 2.4 million.
