'Coronation Street's Becky McDonald is to be devastated when she is told she can't have children.
The bolshy barmaid - who is married to Rovers landlord Steve McDonald - is currently expecting the couple's first child but will tragically lose the baby, before getting pregnant again; but this will also end in a miscarriage.
When she visits doctors, they tell her she has an abnormal womb and will never be able to carry a baby for its full nine month term.
That's daft. Steve only has to wink at me and I'm up the duff. Surely one of them will survive.
Distraught Becky, played by Katherine Kelly, will demand a second opinion and tells the medics: "That's daft. Steve only has to wink at me and I'm up the duff. Surely one of them will survive."
But she finally accepts the situation and blames herself, believing her past life of heavy drinking and drug use has damaged her womb.
But while Steve - who already has a daughter, Amy, with ex-lover Tracey Barlow - is keen to be a dad again he assures Becky he will love her no matter what.
Steve (Simon Gregson) even suggests they try IVF, but a doctor says there's no point as that only helps patients get pregnant and not to carry babies full-term.
